What Season are You In?

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m up at 4 a.m., starting my day with the cold tub.
One question I get all the time is: Why do you do it so early?
The short answer? It’s the season of life I’m in.
With a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, my priority is spending as much time as I can with her and my wife. At the same time, I still have important work to do in my businesses. Waking up at 4 a.m. allows me to fit in my cold tub, time with the Lord, my devotions, and some of my most important work—like checking in on my operating systems, ideation, and creative tasks—before the rest of the house wakes up.
If I got up just one hour later, I’d risk not getting it all done. And because of my priority ladder, I want to make sure I’m honoring what matters most to me.
If you haven’t done a priority ladder exercise before, I highly recommend it. Simply put, it’s identifying the 3–4 areas of life that matter most and committing to align your time, money, and energy with those priorities.
Here’s mine for reference:
1️⃣ God
2️⃣ Family/Friends
3️⃣ Fitness
4️⃣ Business
The first two are my non-negotiables. They don’t move for anything else. The last two are still very important, but they support the top two. They’re all interconnected.
For example:
If I skip my time with the Lord, I’m less present and a weaker leader to my family.
If I miss my workouts, I feel foggy and less energized in my devotions and my work.
This is why I created the Schedule Optimizer—a free tool that helps you audit your calendar, build your perfect week, and understand the value of your time.
What season of life are you in right now? How is it shaping your priorities in life and business?
